When I co-founded Project Seed Money, my passion was helping women share their voices through writing. Originally focused on grants, we wanted to create more – to build a community filling a need we saw.
As a designer and self-publisher, I understand the costs of publishing – editing, cover design, formatting. I’ve invested in ghostwriters and editors, hoping to sell enough books to recoup the upfront costs. Project Seed Money aims to alleviate some of this financial burden for women authors through micro-grants.
I’m proud we’ll be awarding monthly grants to talented applicants who submit an essay. But beyond grants, we’re building a network connecting women writers with mentors, resources, and each other. Writing can be isolating, so I want to cultivate a supportive community. We’re working behind the scenes to bring this online network to life soon!
My hope is that Project Seed Money continues growing, with increasing opportunities for grants, workshops, forums and more. If each of us lifts up fellow women creatives, together we can transform lives. I’m proud to be on this journey, helping women publish their stories one book at a time. If you have a story inside, we want to help make it a reality!
